After graduation, Nick articled and continued as a lawyer at Cragg Law, a general law practice in Halifax. Nick enjoys a varied general practice with a focus on criminal defence, civil litigation, and corporate, estate, and property law.
CO FOUNDER, LAWYER
James Violande
James grew up in Glace Bay and spent most of his summer at his grandparents’ cottage on the Mira River. He attended Cape Breton University, where he earned his Bachelor of Business Administration.
After his graduation, James moved to Fort McMurray, Alberta, where he worked as a consultant in the financial sector and as a training coordinator in the construction sector. Before too long, James realized he did not want to spend a significant part of his life away from his family and friends, so he moved back home to Nova Scotia to study law at Dalhousie University’s Schulich School of Law. After law school James articled with a small firm in Glace Bay before relocating back to Halifax to be closer to his partner, Katelyn. James was a contractor for Bland and Associates Law and Notary Public before co-founding Fitch Violande in October of 2015. James has a general law practice but particularly enjoys helping people with matters relating to criminal defence, family law, personal injury law, and property law.
LAWYER
Gerard Quigley
Gerard joined Fitch Violande after seven years of legal practice in Newfoundland and Labrador. During that time, he worked with the Department of Justice and Public Safety, the Office of the General Counsel at Memorial University and Cox & Palmer.
A graduate of Schulich School of Law, where Gerard had the honour to be elected Valedictorian of his 2010 graduating class, Gerard is pleased to be back in Halifax, near family and friends.
Gerard has a general law practice with a particular interest in criminal and family matters.
